Berlin is one of 87 cities which I have visited so far either Business or Leisure purpose. It is a historic city with rich culture and having lots of stories like Berlin Wall. It is the capital and the largest city of Germany with 3.7 million populations. It is enriched with culture, science, politics and media with diverse industries of Electronics, IT, Construction, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Biomedical and Engineering etc.
I was lucky enough to visit this great city during ITB. What is ITB? ITB stands for Internationale Tourismus-Börse (International Tourism Market). During 16 years of my Hospitality life, I have been attending WTM, ATM, IMEX and other Tourism Exhibitions and Conferences worldwide but I found this world’s largest tourism trade fair. It takes place annually in March at the Messe Berlin.
ITB has its history just like the history of the city where it is happening since more than 50 Years. In 1966, it started with a very small event of an overseas import trade show with only five participating countries. It is a great global success if we look at 2017 figures. The Trade Show started with 5 countries which are grown to more than 180 countries and regions. First trade fair had 250 visitors and now received over 114,000. I can share below dotted information which is shared by ITB in their 2017 report.
